McGinness Game & Tackle is built on family roots and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

Years before this shop ever opened, my parents owned a bait shop of their own. While I wasn't born yet when they ran it, the lessons and standards behind that business carried forward — understanding the importance of healthy bait, dependable inventory, and serving anglers consistently.

That foundation helped shape the vision for this store.

My wife and I built McGinness Game & Tackle together as co-owners, combining family legacy with hard work, planning, help from many people, and a clear purpose: to create a bait and tackle shop local anglers can rely on year-round.

Every decision — from the live bait selection to the tackle on the wall — is made with local waters in mind. The focus isn't on trends or gimmicks. It's on keeping bait healthy, stocking gear that actually works here, and running a clean, dependable operation.

As a husband-and-wife team, we are hands-on in every part of the business. From managing tanks and inventory to helping customers at the counter, our goal is simple: make sure anglers walk out prepared and confident before heading to the water.

But we also know a bait shop is more than shelves and tanks. It's where a parent brings their child before an early morning on the lake. It's where excitement builds before the first cast. It's part of the tradition.

We can't wait to see kids walk through our doors, pick out their bait, ask questions, and head out to make memories of their own.
